ScribersHive is an online platform that allows young writers, storytellers and change-makers (ages 16 & up) to express their thoughts on various social issues and topics that matter to them. Whether it is through writing, poetry, visual art or podcasting, ScribersHive empowers young people to find their voices, share their stories, and be heard by the rest of the world.

“ScribersHive” TC was a unique and memorable experience bringing people from different backgrounds into one creative space and giving them freedom to create and communicate through art. Young minds of Armenia, Ukraine, Jordan, Greece and the UK were joined together in Athens and in London to learn and use the “ScribersHive Method”. What is it? It is a way of storytelling and self-expression. It consists of three main sections: script writing, illustration and video/podcast. The idea is to address a social issue by writing a story, which is passed on to a different person who shall illustrate the story. The illustration is later passed on to another person who shall make a video, or a podcast based on the illustration. Several important social issues were addressed, including immigration, mental health, poverty, women’s rights and inequality. It was an eye-opening experience to see how the same issues exist in several societies and how their perception is different when looking through different cultural lenses. What was created in Athens, taken throughout the world and summarized in London was truly an impressive testament to the fact that social issues are typical to every society and that mutual understanding is the way to address those issues. This project gave a chance to participants to represent their country through art, music, food, cultural talks and to make friends and build life-long connections. Not only it focused on revealing social issues and creating dialog around them, but it also helped develop several skills such as effective communication, teamwork, script writing, design, planning and editing, public speaking, critical thinking, etc.

This was a truly one-of-a-kind Erasmus project taking place in two very different yet surprisingly similar venues: London and Athens, and we are happy to have been a part of it.   We learnt what Scibershive is, how to write articles, create artwork, make videos and podcasts.             To commemorate the programme, we, youth workers from different countries, hosted an exhibition in Culture House of London, where we showed the artwork we created, various articles written by us, the videos created though the whole programme.                                       We are greatful to the FIOH NGO and partnering organizations for selecting such bright and promising youth workers and providing this forum for multicultural dialog and creativity. Projects like this motivate to be more involved with the community, to care more and to listen more.
