Our project began on May 16 in Gaziantep, where we first connected with the Spanish team and local volunteers. After getting to know each other and reviewing the activity plan, we selected our tasks and began our journey.
One of the most impactful parts of our experience was working with the BeChild Association, where we spent time with smart, energetic Syrian children. Through creative activities, energizers, and non-formal educational games, we taught them English in fun and engaging ways. However, it wasn’t just about teaching — we also learned a lot from the children every single day. Their joy, curiosity, and resilience deeply inspired us.
In addition to BeChild, we visited several youth centers and universities to lead English classes for both beginners and advanced students. Participants came from diverse backgrounds, mainly from Turkey and Syria, and ranged in age and experience.
After two incredibly active and meaningful weeks, our team began a road trip from Gaziantep to Armenia. Along the way, we explored the cultural and natural beauty of Urfa, Diyarbakır, Tatvan, Akhtamar Island, Van, Doğubayazıt, and Kars. The journey through the lush green landscapes of Western Armenia made the experience even more memorable and touching.
