We are glad to invite you to the international conference on how to use cultural diplomacy to counter disinformation! The event will take place on September 3-5, 2022 in Berlin and will gather 60 civil society from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine (the so-called Eastern Partnership countries).
One of the biggest security challenges and peace spoilers in the countries of Eastern Partnership is the spread of disinformation and propaganda through media, which is used to manipulate the public opinion. Therefore, our CuDi Conference aims to enhance the role of cultural diplomacy in countering disinformation and wants to support exchange on the best practices among the participants.
During the conference, we will have sessions from invited speakers, podium discussions, simulation game, and idea competition where the best three ideas will be awarded with a mini-grant.
We are looking for representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine (regardless if you are currently residing in one of the countries or live elsewhere). Please join our event if you:
– are over 18 years old;
– have relevant experience in cultural diplomacy, countering disinformation, artistic projects, etc.;
– are fluent in English.
To participate in the selection process, we kindly ask you to fill out the registration form and attach either an essay (PDF, 2 pages max) or a video (MP4, up to 5 min) reflection on “The strategy and state of affairs in using cultural diplomacy as means for countering disinformation” (in English).
Application deadline: 27.07.2022 23:59 CEST.
We will inform all the participants about the results by 12.08.2022.
We will reimburse your travel costs as well as provide meals and accommodation during the conference.
The conference is organized by CRISP with kind support of the German Federal Foreign Office in the framework of Civil Society Cooperation program.
Participation fee is 49000AMD ( including visa support and health insurance).
