The purpose of our project is to integrate young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the community by developing their social skills and their autonomy while focusing on informing and sensitizing the community about the obstacles and discrimination these people but also their families face. This project was born due to the need of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder who participate much less often in social activities compared to the typical ones.
Duration of the volunteering mobility: 15 June 2022 – 15 April 2023
Volunteering team: 6 volunteers
– 4 international volunteers
– 2 national volunteers within the Autism Spectrum Disorder
The main activities will consist of working in a day-care center for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to help youngsters with ASD acquire skills for an independent life and integrate into society by spreading awareness in the community.
We are looking for volunteers that host abilities related to:
– photo/video and social media content creation
– art and handmade crafts
– creative and academic writing
– cooking and/or greening
The volunteers should be aged 18 to 30 years old (as stated by the program reglementations) with a good English level and determinated to carry out activities in the community.
