Seven months in Bucharest: join COSI as one of 4 ESC volunteers

📅 15 January – 30 July 2027 · 📍 Bucharest, Romania · ⏳ Apply by 15 November 2026

Ever wondered what an Erasmus+ project looks like from behind the scenes, not from the participant’s chair? Want to spend half a year in a capital city, building campaigns that actually reach young people? Here’s your chance.

EPVP 7.1 is a long-term individual volunteering project of the European Solidarity Corps. It’s hosted by Asociația COSI (Civic Orientation and Social Integration), a Bucharest NGO that has worked in non-formal education since 2014. More than 70 international volunteers have already been part of the Eastern Partnership Volunteering Program. Now it’s the next generation’s turn, and that could be you.

What you’ll do

One campaign a month. After an induction in January, you and three other volunteers will run six monthly awareness campaigns for Romanian youngsters, on three themes:

  • Counter discrimination and tolerance
  • Promote opportunities for youth
  • Youth participation and active citizenship

You’ll research each topic, set objectives, brainstorm, carry out at least 7 activities per campaign (workshops, clubs, trainings, events, videos, posters…) and then evaluate what changed. You’ll also share your ESC experience in schools and universities, and host your own intercultural evening with music, food and stories from your country.

Erasmus+ from the inside. COSI runs two Erasmus+ projects during your stay: World Café 3.0 in April and Voice and Action 5.0 in July. You’ll help with every step: logistics, participant selection, materials, facilitation and dissemination. You’ll also help send young Romanians to projects abroad.

Two teams, both experiences. You’ll start in either the online team, which handles social media strategy and content, or the offline team, which handles events, workshops and public speaking. After two months you switch, so you get to try both.

Your week

  • 30 hours, Monday to Thursday
  • Weekends free, every week
  • 2 extra days off every month

Who we’re looking for

You might be a good fit if you:

  • are 18–30 years old and registered on the European Solidarity Corps portal
  • are NEET, meaning not in employment, education or training
  • live in an EU country, the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) or the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia)
  • speak English at least at a conversational level
  • want to learn content creation, social media, facilitation and event organisation
  • care about human rights, solidarity and intercultural dialogue

No previous experience needed. Motivation matters more than a CV. You’ll learn on the job with the COSI team, and you’ll have a mentor to turn to whenever you need one.

It costs you nothing

  • ✈️ Return travel booked and paid by COSI. You don’t book anything or wait for reimbursement.
  • 🏠 Shared accommodation with the team, with wifi and utilities included
  • 💶 270 EUR per month for food and pocket money
  • 🚇 Monthly metro pass
  • 🛡️ ESC insurance for the whole stay
  • 📄 Visa and residence permit support where needed
  • 🎓 On-arrival training, mentoring and a Youthpass certificate

What you’ll take home

Real experience running awareness campaigns and Erasmus+ projects. Skills in facilitation, public speaking and digital tools like Canva, CapCut, social media and Kahoot. Basic Romanian. And a team of friends from all over Europe.
