The volunteer will be involved in a range of activities designed to support individuals with diverse needs, always under the guidance and supervision of professionals, assistants, and tutors at the organization’s facilities in La Flota, Murcia.

Main Responsibilities:

Support in the development and implementation of employment programs, especially those focused on helping users transition from adolescence to adulthood.

Assistance in occupational and basic skills workshops, fostering autonomy and personal growth.

Collaboration in daily activities, both inside and outside the center, including:

o Swimming pool workshop (aquatic therapy and intervention).

o Organic gardening.

o Ecological shop management and product sales.

o Craft workshops (ceramics, glasswork, leather, etc.).

o Activities of daily living (e.g. cleaning, cooking).

o Speech therapy and communication skills workshops.

o Multisensory stimulation sessions and music therapy.

o Employment readiness and integration workshops.

o Leisure and free-time activities.

o Sexuality education workshops.

Additional Involvement:

· Promotion of European programs and mobility opportunities among young people in the Region of Murcia, as well as among users of the organization.

· Participation in workshops and presentations about the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) in local youth organizations, secondary schools, and the University of Murcia.

· Monthly creation of content showcasing the volunteer’s activities and project impact, contributing to the visibility and dissemination of results.

Working Schedule

The volunteer’s typical schedule will be Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 20:00Occasionally, participation in leisure activities on Saturday mornings may be required. Also on some occasions, the volunteer might be asked to work in the morning; in such cases, the afternoon schedule will be adjusted accordingly to respect the total working hours.

Our volunteering project seeks to promote the values promoted by the EU and the ESC Programme, such as solidarity, equality, justice, respect, the fight against exclusion and xenophobia, etc.

More Information About the Volunteer’s Life

Practical arrangements: The schedule of the volunteer activities will be between 30 and 38 hours per week. The volunteer will work max. 38 hours on 5 days per week.

Holidays: According to the rules of ESC, volunteers must have 2 working days off per month.

Accommodation: The volunteers will live in a room in a shared flat located in the city of Murcia together with other volunteers. The room and the flat will be fully equipped, and electricity, water, gas and internet will be covered by the lead organization (till the amount of 30€ per volunteer).

Pocket money: The volunteer will receive the monthly rate foreseen by the Spanish NA, 186€ per month.

Food: The volunteer will receive 184€ for food every month.

Local transport: Every volunteer will have a chance to choose a bike or bus card provided by the hosting organization if it is needed.

Language support: The volunteer is entitled to receive language support with an online platform, as stated on the ESC programme guide.

Medical insurance: The volunteer will be covered by a private insurance that will cover all the expenses not covered by the public health system (health, accident and civil liability insurance).

Travel costs: The volunteer will receive financial support for travel from his/her country to Spain and from Spain to his/her country once the project is completed, up to a maximum amount established by the European Commission according to the distance band.

Visa and residence permit fees: The volunteer will receive financial support for visa arrangements (if required).

Deposit: The volunteer will have to make a 370€ deposit that will be reimbursed once the project is ended and the volunteer leaves tidy, clean, and with no damage in the private room and common areas, and if the volunteer doesn’t leave the project without a justified reason before it ends.

Volunteer Profile

This project is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old who have not participated in any European volunteering project (EVS or ESC) before. We will give priority to the selection of young people with fewer opportunities.

The selection will be made based on the attitude, the willingness to participate, the motivation and the commitment to the values of the project rather than knowledge and skills of the candidates .

We value the responsibility, the spirit of initiative, the patience and the ability to step back from interpersonal conflicts in order to deal with them more effectively, and the enthusiasm and willingness to participate in the different activities offered.

No young person willing to participate in our project will be excluded for any reason (economic difficulties; social or geographical obstacles; cultural or ideological differences; sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, gender and gender identity, etc.).

About Talentismo / Astrade

Talentismo (Astrade) is a non-profit organization born in 1996 from the union of families who have at least one person with autism. The main objective is to improve the quality of the life of people with mental disorders and their families. The Assembly includes more than 300 families spread throughout the Region of Murcia. Talentismo/Astrade has a Board of Directors whose main function is to manage and represent the Association. In addition, to develop the plans designed by the Board, Talentismo has a professional group of one hundred people and an important group of volunteers who work with them.

Our goal is to ensure the well-being and improve the quality of the life of people with disabilities or autism and their families, throughout the different periods of their lives.

The specific objectives of Talentismo (Astrade) are:

– Empower the person with autism by providing comprehensive care, starting with prevention and going through specific interventions, to carry out an improvement in their quality of life.

– Working with families (welcoming, information, counseling and training) with the aim of achieving family integration as a basic step towards social integration.

Talentismois a member of the “Murcia Region of FEAPS”(The Spanish Confederation of Organizations in favor of People with Intellectual Disabilities) and the “Spanish Confederation of Autism”.

Talentismoprovides the following services to its members and users:

SERVICES FOR MEMBERS / USERS: psycho Pedagogical evaluation, educational support, psychosocial support, Asperger’s group, workshop activities, swimming pool, summer camp, summer school, leisure activities for adults and academics, psychomotor education, music therapy, speech-language pathology, toy library, multisensory stimulation, employment support.

SERVICES FOR PARENTS: psychological support, family care service, family rest support, school for parents, “School for siblings and grandparents”, family visit, general intervention in the family context and Collusion support.

Currently, Talentismo is developing its services in the Region of Murcia, intervening in more than of 100 educational centers throughout the region. It has four centers in four different cities:
