Our group had the incredible opportunity to embark on an advanced visit to Lithuania on August 21-23, paving the way for the upcoming “Breaking Trails, Breaking Barriers” project scheduled for September 18-26, 2023, in the picturesque town of Telšiai. During this preparatory visit, our group leaders engaged in fruitful discussions, ensuring that all necessary and essential details were thoroughly addressed and aligned.
ur mission is clear: to empower young people between the ages of 18 and 26, hailing from various corners of the world, to become active citizens and fervent advocates for gender equality, social inclusion, and diversity within their respective communities. This noble cause is at the heart of our project, and our time spent in Lithuania only served to strengthen our commitment to this important endeavor.
One of the key objectives of our project is to increase the knowledge and understanding of gender roles, discrimination, and social inclusion among young people. Through innovative and engaging non-formal education activities, such as workshops, interactive sessions, and simulation games, we aim to foster a deep sense of awareness and empathy among our participants. Our discussions during the advanced visit honed in on the best ways to achieve this goal, ensuring that our educational activities will be both impactful and thought-provoking.
Moreover, we have recognized the power of outdoor education as a unique and captivating tool in providing a holistic learning experience that appeals to young people with various learning preferences. Our discussions in Lithuania centered on how we can harness the beauty of the Lithuanian landscape to enhance the learning journey of our participants. The outdoors will serve as both a classroom and a source of inspiration, allowing our young leaders to connect with nature and each other in profound ways.
Lastly, our advanced visit emphasized the importance of fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding. By bringing together young people from different countries, we are creating a dynamic and diverse community of learners who will collaboratively work towards a common goal. The enriching experiences and insights shared during our visit highlighted the potential for meaningful cross-cultural connections and friendships that will undoubtedly emerge from this project.
As we reflect on our advanced visit to Lithuania, we are filled with enthusiasm and determination to make “Breaking Trails, Breaking Barriers” a resounding success. We are confident that the foundations laid during our discussions in Lithuania will serve as the solid framework upon which our project will thrive. Together, we are poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people, inspiring them to become champions of gender equality, social inclusion, and diversity in their communities and beyond.
