“How Poland Became a Gateway to New Opportunities for Me

Often, the biggest changes in life start with a small, unnoticed step. My success story is no exception. One day, I applied for an international ESC program without paying much attention to the fact that it would last for four months. Little did I know, one phone call would completely change my life.

I received an invitation for an interview from the Bona Fides organization, followed by final confirmation from the FIOH organization. After getting a positive response, I began negotiations with the leadership of my workplace in Armenia, the “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” Educational Complex. With their support and approval to continue my work remotely, I confirmed my participation in the program.

By September 3, I was already in Katowice, Poland. The first week was a time of discovery for me; the city welcomed me with open arms, and my initial meetings with the program team were just as inspiring. Our work was conducted in three schools: SociocraticSosnowiec, and Sowizdrzala High School. Each of them was unique in its methodology and warm atmosphere. We had the chance not only to work with students but also to participate in several events.

At the end of September, I attended training sessions in Warsaw, where we learned new methods for teamwork and leadership. Alongside the training, we explored the beauty of the Old Town in the capital.

In the following months, I continued my work at various schools, focusing on English language instruction, uncovering students’ interests, and learning methods for inclusive education. One of the most remarkable experiences was working at the Sosnowiec school, which was designed for children with mental and physical challenges. The school stood out for its advanced resources, technology, and a team of psychologists and educators.

I used my free days to explore Poland and several neighboring countries, traveling to cities like Warsaw, Katowice, Kraków, and Sosnowiec, as well as Prague in the Czech Republic, Barcelona in Spain, Berlin in Germany, and Paris, Rouen, Niort, and La Rochelle in France. Each city taught me something new through its history and culture.

These four months became one of the brightest and most memorable periods of my life. I not only broadened my horizons but also learned to believe in myself, be independent, and stay strong. This experience proved that the impossible becomes possible when you’re ready to open the door to new opportunities.”
