Izabella Muradyan and Mariam Avetyan were making a difference in Łódź, Poland, through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program. From September 2023 to June 2024, they were volunteering at the Foundation Institute of Creative Actions, where they lead free workshops for children, young people, and seniors in the community. Working primarily in the local library, they organized activities including arts, music, storytelling, and reading sessions, all aimed at fostering creativity and connection across generations.

In addition to the workshops, Izabella and Mariam assist with the library’s daily operations, from event planning to logistical support. Their efforts contribute to the foundation’s mission of strengthening community bonds and providing a welcoming environment for everyone.

Funded by the European Commission, the ESC program enables young volunteers like Izabella and Mariam to gain new skills, foster cultural understanding, and make lasting positive impacts in communities across Europe. They look forward to continuing their work, supporting the Łódź community while gaining experience and connections that may extend beyond the program.
