Empowering Rural Youth Work through European Partnerships

“From Rural to Plural 3.0” is an international Erasmus+ Partnership Building Activity (PBA) dedicated to strengthening the ecosystem of rural youth work across Europe. Hosted in the scenic region of Simon (Bran), Romania, from March 23 to April 1, 2026, this initiative brings together 28 dedicated youth workers, organizational leaders, and rural practitioners.

The project serves as a collaborative laboratory where participants move beyond isolated local actions to build a sustainable, interconnected European network. Our mission is to transform the challenges of rural isolation into opportunities for “plural” cooperation, ensuring that young people in rural areas have access to the same quality of support and representation as their urban counterparts.

Key Objectives:

  • Analyze Rural Realities: Explore the structural challenges and governance gaps affecting young people in rural and semi-rural contexts across Europe.

  • Capacity Building: Exchange proven practices and develop robust governance models to increase the impact of rural youth organizations.

  • Strategic Advocacy: Collaborate on the development of the European Rural Youth Work Declaration to position rural youth issues on local and European agendas.

  • Project Incubation: Facilitate the creation of thematic clusters and working groups to launch future international Erasmus+ projects.

Why It Matters:

Rural youth work often faces unique hurdles, from limited infrastructure to geographical distance. “From Rural to Plural 3.0” bridges these gaps by fostering high-quality partnerships, promoting the Youthpass framework for competence recognition, and empowering organizations to become catalysts for change in their home communities.
