My Volunteering Experience in Łódź, Poland

My volunteering journey in Łódź, Poland was an unforgettable experience that combined creativity, teamwork, and cultural exchange. I was based at our association’s office, where I mainly worked on promotion and design tasks. This gave me the chance to contribute to the organization’s visibility while also developing my own skills in communication and creative work.

Another important part of my volunteering was leading and assisting in artistic workshops at schools. Working with students was both inspiring and rewarding. It was a chance not only to share my knowledge and creativity, but also to experience the fresh ideas and perspectives that young people bring. These workshops became a space of mutual learning, where we exchanged culture, art, and inspiration.

As part of my Project Management course groupwork, I also created “challenge cards” designed to help long-term volunteers with their adaptation process. This task allowed me to combine creativity with practical problem-solving, and it gave me valuable experience in developing tools that can directly support others. Seeing how these cards could make a real difference for future volunteers was one of the most motivating parts of my stay.

What made this experience even more meaningful was the community I found around me. I was lucky to work with a dedicated team at the association, where collaboration and support made every day enjoyable. At the same time, I met new friends—both fellow Armenians and people from different countries and continents. This intercontinental network of friendships is one of the greatest gifts of volunteering, and I know these connections will stay with me long after the project.
