Located in the heart of Vilnius, Lithuania, Šviesa Day Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive day care services for individuals aged 18 and above with mental, intellectual, and complex disabilities. Our center serves as a nurturing environment where 74 individuals receive personalized care and support tailored to their unique needs and abilities.
Volunteer Opportunity
We are currently seeking passionate volunteers to join our team and collaborate with social workers in implementing a diverse range of activities. Volunteers will play a crucial role in enriching the lives of our participants through activities such as:
- Music: Offering individual sessions, therapeutic activities, and orchestral experiences.
- Theatre: Engaging participants in creative expression and performance arts.
- Ceramics: Providing opportunities for artistic expression through pottery.
- Sports: Organizing inclusive sports activities to promote physical well-being.
- Discussion Clubs: Facilitating meaningful conversations and community engagement.
- Newsletter “ŠARKA”: Involving participants in publishing a monthly newsletter.
- Events and Festivals: Planning and participating in events both within and outside the center.
- Trips and Excursions: Organizing outings to explore Vilnius and its surroundings.
- Social Skills Development: Implementing programs to enhance social skills in natural settings.
Volunteer Benefits
Volunteers will be accommodated in a rented apartment with private rooms and provided with a monthly allowance covering food expenses and pocket money. Additionally, each volunteer will receive a monthly public transport ticket to facilitate easy travel within Vilnius.
