Our journey through the “From Rural to Plural” project was a remarkable experience that left a lasting impact on us as representatives of Future In Our Hands (FIOH).
From January 18th to January 26th, 2024, we had the privilege of participating in this transformative project in Simon, Bran. During this time, we not only forged enduring friendships but also acquired invaluable memories and knowledge that will resonate with us for years to come.
At the heart of the project was the “European Youth Village” program, which endeavors to empower young individuals in rural areas with the necessary tools to actively participate in their communities and champion inclusivity and diversity. Through immersive workshops and engaging discussions, we gained profound insights into the significance of youth involvement in decision-making processes.
As representatives of FIOH, we were honored to join 39 youth workers hailing from 14 different countries. The diversity within our group provided us with a rich tapestry of perspectives on rural youth development and laid the groundwork for potential future collaborations.
None of this would have been possible without the generous support of the European Union’s Erasmus Program. Their backing not only facilitated our participation but also underscored the importance of international cooperation in harnessing the potential of young people worldwide.
Our experience in the “From Rural to Plural” project has reaffirmed our commitment to empowering youth and fostering positive change within our communities. We look forward to sharing our learnings and experiences with our wider audience and continuing to advocate for youth participation and inclusivity in all facets of society.
