My national team’s Erasmus+-supported journey through Croatia and Austria was a tale of cultural enrichment and personal growth. In the small city of Samobor, our project focused on social inclusion/exclusion, fostering positive change through immersive experiences. Erasmus+ connected us to invaluable friendships and diverse skills, with the shared living experience enhancing our understanding of social dynamics. The bonds formed in Samobor transcended borders, creating a lasting support network. Venturing to Rijeka added a breathtaking chapter, highlighting Erasmus+’s impact on athletic excellence and a deep appreciation for diversity. Beyond field victories, our success was measured by enduring friendships, heightened cultural awareness, and newfound skills. This adventure stands as a testament to Erasmus+’s transformative power in international collaboration, social awareness, and embracing diversity.

Moreover, what truly made my experience unforgettable was the open-mindedness of the people and the support and care provided by the facilitators. I was fortunate to be part of a remarkable project enabled by the European Erasmus+ program. This initiative unfolded in the picturesque city of Samobor, Croatia, and took us on an incredible journey through several European cities, spanning three countries: Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia. The program was aptly named “You Ain’t SCENE Nothing Yet.”
Imagine embarking on a 12-day adventure far from the comfort of friends and family, spanning thousands of kilometers, immersed in a foreign land. This experience challenged our very essence and made us question the lives we had led thus far. Most of us realized that we had been living on autopilot, never pausing to consider if this was truly what we desired. It became clear that we needed to listen to our hearts and define our current aspirations.
It was during one such moment of daring decision-making that I decided to embark on the Erasmus+ project. I chose a country that was relatively unfamiliar to me, with only a cursory knowledge of its name. I applied for the project, was fortunate enough to be selected, and packed my bags, bidding farewell to Armenia.
The experience exceeded all my expectations; it was nothing short of incredible. The very first day did not overwhelm me as I had anticipated. I remember landing and thinking, “What a breathtaking experience!” With just 20 years of life under my belt, I had never encountered a period as vibrant and exhilarating as this. I had never fathomed that I would learn at such an accelerated pace outside of a traditional classroom. In a remarkably short span, I explored more than three countries, yet the thirst for adventure remained unquenched. Samobor’s immersive classes transformed me, altering my perspective on people, children, nature, and the world at large. More than ever, I grasped the profound impact of my individuality in driving significant change.
The project emphasized that the power to effect change is within our grasp; all we need to do is open our eyes and recognize it.

This journey not only allowed me to explore beautiful European cities but also provided profound insights into social inclusion, particularly in relation to the world of theatre.
One of the most striking aspects of this exchange program was the incredible group of participants. Every single one of them was not only welcoming but also uniquely talented and kind-hearted. As the days went by, I came to realize that the bonds we formed during this project would be cherished for a lifetime. The diversity of backgrounds and perspectives within our group enriched the experience, and I will always remember this trip as one of the best moments of my life.
The heart of this project was in Samobor, where we delved deep into the world of social inclusion through theatre. It was an eye-opening experience that changed the way I perceive the power of performing arts. The workshops and activities we engaged in taught me that theatre could be a powerful tool to break barriers, foster understanding, and promote social harmony. This newfound knowledge has not only broadened my horizons but has also ignited a passion for using the arts as a means of promoting positive change in society.
One of the highlights of our journey was the study visit in Rijeka. For me, it was a particularly amazing experience because of my deep admiration for the Adriatic Sea. The picturesque views and the calming influence of the sea left a lasting impression on me. The time spent there was not just educational but also refreshing. It reinforced my connection with nature and reminded me of the importance of preserving such natural wonders.
Looking back at this youth exchange in Samobor, Croatia, I can confidently say that it was a transformative experience.
