“The TC ‘PIFI: Promote Inclusion, Fight Intolerance!’ took place in Cyprus from 7-13/2/2023. Its aim was to mitigate the effects of intolerance by promoting activities that increase tolerance among different social groups. PIFI equipped YW with specific tools and competencies to create and manage a set of activities that participants can use to promote the inclusion of migrants in their local communities.”
“Promote Inclusion, Fight Intolerance” TC in Cyprus had the aim to promote tolerant and anti-racist behavior. The topic was both timely and relevant for our time. The participants and the participating nations were carefully chosen to reflect the situation from various cultures and perspectives. At some point in their lives, each participant had dealt with issues including discrimination against migrants, emigrants, and members of national minorities, as well as violations of their rights and instances of labeling.
The program was very well structured and conveyed the main objectives of the topic and familiarized us with various cultural and philosophical differences. Diverse activities and stories taught us how to deal with a society that is considered a refugee and is a minority in a given country. We can confidently state how much of an impact this training course had on the expansion and development of our horizons. We had the feeling that we were parallel to everyone’s home country and learned about their way of life from the inside after getting to meet the representatives of the other countries. The planned games and exercises provided a very intriguing insight into each participant’s mindset, as well as the legal and cultural stance of the represented nation on the subject.
Before going to Cyprus, we were unaware of the high rate of immigration there, and the fact that a significant portion of the population is made up of immigrants and refugees. This was a fantastic chance to understand and relate to migration, which has turned into a global problem. We note with concern and admiration that we have personally met several refugee families who have left their country and settled in Cyprus. After getting to know them, we became captivated by the skills, determination, and immense love the children of those families possessed. Such programs are a wonderful way for everyone to learn new skills, make new acquaintances, gain memorable experiences and perceptions that will help transform many people’s lives.
Կիպրոսում կայացած PIFI ծրագիրը նպատակաուղղված էր խթանելու տոլերանտ և հակառասիստական վարքագիծը։ Կարծում ենք ժամանակահարմար թեմա էր և արդի մեր օրերի համար։ Մասնակիցները ընտրված էին շատ դիպուկ, քանզի մասնակցում էին այն երկրները, որտեղ կա և/կամ աճում է ներգաղթը։ Մասնակիցներից յուրաքանչյուրը կյանքի ինչ-որ փուլում բախվել էր այնպիսի խնդիրների ինչպիսիք են ՝ ազգային փոքրամասնությունների, գաղթականների և էմիգրանտների ճնշումները, նրանց հանդեպ անարդար որոշումները, իրենց իրավունքների ոտնահարումը և անգամ նրանց պիտակավորելու դեպքերը։ Կային նաև այնպիսի պատմություններ, որոնք օրինակելի կերպով ցույց էին տալիս, թե ինչպես է պետք վարվել փախստական համարվող և տվյալ երկրում փոքրամասնություն կազմող հասարակության հետ։
Ծրագիրը բացի նրանից, որ բավականին ուսուցողական էր նաև ապահովում էր ծանոթություն մշակույթների և մտածելակերպի տարբերությունների հետ։ Ավարտից հետո վստահ կարող ենք ասել, թե ինչքան մեծ էր ծրագրի ազդեցությունը մեր մտահորիզոնի զարգացման և աճի վրա։ Ազգերի ներկայացուցիչների հետ ծանոթությունից հետ տպավորություն էր, որ զուգահեռաբար գտնվել ենք բոլորի հայրենիքում և ծանոթացել ենք իրենց ապրելակերպին հենց ներսից։ Կազմակերպված խաղեր-առաջադրանքները շատ հետաքրքիր ձևով ներկայացնում էին յուրաքանչյուր մասնակցի մտածելակերպը և ինչու չէ նաև ներկայացվող երկրի օրինական, մշակութային դիրքորոշումը տվյալ հարցի վերաբերյալ։
Նախքան Կիպրոս գնալը, չգիտեինք այն մասին, որ երկրում շատ է ներգաղթը և ժողովրդի զգալի մեծամասնություն են կազմում փախստականները և էմիգրանտները։ Սա հիանալի հնարավորություն էր անձամբ ծանոթանալու և առնչվելու աշխարհում չարիք դարձած գաղթի հետ։ Ցավով և նաև հիացմունքով ենք նշում, որ անձամբ ծանոթացել ենք փախստական մի քանի ընտանիքների հետ, որոնք ճարահատյալ լքել են իրենց երկիրը և հանգրվանել են Կիպրոսում։ Ծանոթությունից հետո հիացած էինք այդ ընտանիքների երեխաների ընդունակություններով, կամքի ուժով և բոլորի նկատմամբ մեծ սիրով։
Նմանատիպ ծրագրերը հիանալի հնարավորություն են բոլորի համար ստանալու նոր գիտելիքներ, ծանոթություններ, փորձ և նոր էմոցիաներ, որոնք կփոխեն շատերի կյանքը։
