Shaghig Manjigian shares her experience from the TC in Cyprus:

This year I was lucky enough to enjoy the sun, the sea and summer in early May. On the 12th of May the amazing training course (Educate Youth To Bridge Conflicts And Build Peace) took place in Agros, Cyprus. Being a Syrian Armenian and living through the war in Syria, the personal experience I have gained there made me understand how much peace the world needs and how the youth can have a major role in the peace making process. I understood that the youth should stand up for humanity, equality and peace. This training course gave me the chance to represent my beloved country Armenia. It also gave me the chance to be the voice of lots of Syrians who are still suffering from the horror of the war.

During my 10 days in Cyprus, along with the workshops and the debates, I enjoyed exploring different cities there. I will never forget the amazing day I had in Nikosia, The UN buffer zone, our visit to the EU house and the parliament of Cyprus.

Those places made this trip special and unique. This project also gave me the opportunity to meet people from all over Europe, together we shared stories about our daily lives in our countries. Spending time with them, I understood that the cultural differences can never be barriers to make friendship with people.

The words won’t be enough to express my gratitude to the organizer and to “The Future In Our Hands” organization for the amazing and life changing experience.
