We are looking for people/participants with fewer opportunities of participation.
Participants should be:
– Available to develop a good project, and work on it as much as possible
– Motivated and positive to ensure that the project achieve the expected success
– Active and available to participate in all the activities proposed
– Open mind, sharing the knowledge and its own culture with those that (in)directly take part on the project
– Responsible and able to respect and accomplish the project for which they had applied
– Flexible and able to adapt to different tasks in order to supply the needs, facing the problems as a challenge and a possibility of growing up
– Be helpful and able to develop teamwork
– Respect and be tolerant with those with people with special needs as well as the host organization’s ideals
– Be open to develop friendly relations and communicate with those that take part of their project
– Be helpful and kind anytime needed
– Be able to adapt themselves to the community and open to learn the new culture
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes that we intend to improve in the participants are:
– Develop or improve knowledge about disabilities
– Develop abilities to work with people with disabilities/special needs
– Work in team or alone planning activities, developing it, evaluating it
– Work in team or alone planning activities to the community about disabilities/special needs, developing it, evaluating it
– Develop own skills to be able to prepare projects about disabilities and rehabilitation
– Establish contact with new languages and develop abilities to use it
– Develop active citizenship
– Increase self esteem and self confidence
– Acquire knowledge about how others live in a different country, about a new culture and tradition
– Increase the solidarity and tolerance with others, promoting the understanding between others
– Contribute to the development of the support systems to youth activities and society in general
Main Activities
The activities will be developed, mostly in CERCINA, and always for those that are our target group, people with disabilities and people with fewer opportunities of participation. Some activities aren’t developed in CERCINA but around, for example at schools, once that we work with the community and some activities are developed outside at swimming pool, schools, near the sea…
Once we intend to develop the objectives described before:
– Promote youngsters active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular. Through simple things as taking part of the activities plan, searching for information, work to achieve their final goals…
– Develop solidarity and promote tolerance between the youngsters, in particular in the sense of promote European Union social cohesion. In our case solidarity and tolerance start in the beginning once that we are talking about people with disabilities and different disabilities, that
means that everything must start on the kick off.
– Develop mutual understanding between youngsters from different countries.
– Contribute to the development of the quality of the youth systems ofsupport and to the capacity of non governmental organizations in the youth area. By doing, our organizations, increase project after project the abilities to do more and better which is incredibly good.
– Promote European cooperation in the youth area… and also in the disability area.
We believe that the proposed activities will support the goals achievement, once that participants will develop activities that allow them to work always in that sense. Participants will have to participate in all the proposed activities, although we will allow them to choose in which activities they want to participate more or less respecting their beliefs and abilities.
All the activities will be developed at Nazaré, mostly at CERCINA, or around, depending on the activities chosen by the participants to participate on. Those activities will start on the 1st of September 2016 and will finish on the 31st August 2017, in a total of 12 months.
Participants will have one month just to know more about CERCINA, the activities developed and about the students that regularly participate on our activities. Activities will be always carried by a responsible of our organization, person that daily prepare it, and this person will be also responsible for the participant’s inclusion in the activity.
Activities will be divided in three parts:
– Activities at CERCINA (A)
– Activities promoted by CERCINA to the community with the aim of
inform about disabilities and abilities (B)
– Personal Project
(A) Participants will participle on CERCINA’s daily activities and developed for CERCINA’s students or beneficiaries. Those activities will occupy participants most of the time, because they will be involved not only on its development but also in the preparation and evaluation. Those
activities are: adapted sailing, adapted swimming, horse therapy, psychomotor therapy, social activities, daily living activities, art, crafts,walking,…
Participants will:
Support the activities’ preparation (preparation of activities, materials
and equipment…)
– Support the activities’ development
– Cooperate on the activities’ evaluation
– Support thematic parties’ development (Christmas, Carnival, Easter…)
– Support the students or beneficiaries when needed
(B) Participants will be also part of the team that prepare and develop
activities for the community. They will:
– Support the preparation and development of activities about
disabilities to children and youngsters
– Support the preparation and development of activities about
disabilities to the community in general
– Support all the events performed by CERCINA to the community
(C) Participants will be highly encouraged to develop their own project
according to their interests and according to the CERCINA availability.
This can be an opportunity to share their own culture and way of life.
