ESC in France: January 2021

Dear followers,

We want to let you know, that we’re so much looking forward to meet you again, we miss organising projects for you, we miss our selection process, when we find ourselves lost in the amount of applications, trying to make the most suitable selection, we miss your active participation, we miss our office and your visits…

Although the global situation closed the boarders  for all of us, however we do our best to  bring everything back, as soon as everything will calm down. And we’re preparing a lot of projects for you. For the moment we have got approved projects, and we will start the selection of participants, as soon as we will get the possibility to travel and explore the new culture.

However at this point we have a call for a project, which will start on January 2021. If you’re interested please have a look at the information and APPLY.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT 

The « Mission Locale of the Creuse » intervenes on the whole department of Creuse, rural territory (22 inhabitants per km2 against 116 at the national level). Its seat is located in Guéret (15 000 inhabitants), prefecture of the department and has all the services you would expect of a city of this size.
The « Mission Locale of the Creuse » welcomes young people from 18 to 25 years. Many of them feel a strong sense of isolation, both geographic and social. In addition, unemployment, poverty, the weight of dependence on their family are forcing them to not be able to project themselves into positive perspectives. However, these young users aspire and feel the need to escape, to broaden their professional and personal horizons, to know and be open to new people, without judgment. For two years, the local mission welcomes also more and more refugees (40 are currently accompanied by the “Mission Locale”) with greater needs and strengthened support.
Welcoming young volunteers in the “Mission Locale” will allow exchanges with our users on the points of convergence, on the cultural differences, on issues of respective youth in each country (difficulties in employment for example).

EXPECTED RESULTS AND IMPACT

By this project, we wish that the young people accompanied by the “Mission Locale” find the driving force to take charge of their own destiny into causes which are dear to them, by making their voices heard, by succeeding in their personal and/or professional projects.
To achieve that goal, we shall have beforehand to work on all the peripheral disincentives : regain taste in social life, know the societies’ codes of conduct and way of life France, develop skills related to group living, building actions (evening games, debates, participative projects, sitting on the youth advisory conceal of the “Mission Locale”, mentoring, ….).
We count a lot on the ripple effect of these actions on other young people who will pursue the undertaken activities and will create new others.

PROFILE OF VOLUNTEER

-it’s not necessary that volunteers speak very good french,
-interests in youth politics, a desire to accompany the youth in insertion,
-DRIVING LICENSE is a MUST
-a volunteer with a training course in the social education, alternative education, and experience with people with educational difficulties is very interesting for us,
-required qualities : great rigor, be listening, dynamic, autonomous, strength of proposal sense of contact,
-the volunteers should have interests in youth policies, an appetite for the accompaniment of young people in insertion,
-want to participate in animations with the welcomed public,
-the volunteers have to be strength of proposals to liven up the reception area and be relatively autonomous,
We will favour motivation and commitment over diplomas.

ACTIVITIES

-animate the collective information presenting the workshops “social life – commitment”: participatory projects, web blog tv, Advisory Council of young people,
-participate in the workshops and animate the workshops «social life – commitment» like web blog tv, voluntaries activities ….
-accompany young people in their insertion process.
-the volunteer will participate to the training sessions organizated by Erasmus + jeunesse. Moreover, regular meetings with the tutor enable to solve the difficulties.
