1.RøndeFrieSkovbørnehus (Children)

Next volunteer period:1st September 2019 – 30th June 2020

 Description of the project:

The Kindergarten and nursery “RøndeFrieSkovbørnehus” is beautifully located in the middle of a forest, only 5 min walk from the seaside. At the kindergarten, they have four groups of children aged 0-3, 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 under the same roof with different outside activities and right now there are  50 children and 8 staff.

 

2.TranbjergPlejehjem (Elderly people)

Next volunteer period:1st September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

TranbjergPlejehjem is a nursing home and community center for elderly people of Aarhus Kommune – the municipality of Aarhus. It is situated in Tranbjerg, 12km south of Aarhus – Denmark’s second largest city. Part of the nursing home is a café, a community center with rooms for meetings and activities, and a health center.

 

3.Onkel og Tante (Children)

Next volunteer period:5th of August 2019 – 31 July 2020.

Description of the project:

Onkel og Tante (Uncle and Aunt) is a kindergarden located in Rugsted, on the countryside. It has space for 45 children, from age 0-6 and has its focus on nature-activities.

During most of the day the children are divided into two groups: the 0-2 year olds and the 3-6 year olds. Together with the youngest they sing and play every day. Everyday the children from 2 years and up will spend some time playing outside. Children aged 3-6 have a lot of excursions. The excursions are varying and can be everything from going out into the nature, making bonfires, going to museums, and go swimming.

 

4.Odsherreds Efterskole (Youth Boarding school)

Next volunteer period:5th August-2019.-30th June 2020.

Description of project:

Odsherredes Efterskole is a Christian self-governing boarding school (efterskole) offering formal secondary education for 9th and 10th grade. It have are around 160 students between 15-17 year, which stay for one year at the school. The school is situated in the western part of Zealand in a small town named Faarevejle.

 

 5.Aagard Efterskole (Efterskole/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period:10th of August 2019.-30th of June 2019.

Description of project:

Aagaard Efterskole is a part of a network of schools in Denmark, known as “Efterskole”. “Efterskole” is a unique schooling concept found only in Denmark. Broadly speaking it is a private boarding school with government grants that provides Secondary School education for young people at the age of 15 to 17.

 

6.Vedersø Efterskole – The International (Boarding School/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period: 4th of August 2019.-30th of June

Description of the project:

The International Academy and Boarding School of Denmark is the only 100% English speaking efterskole in Denmark, where students aged 14-17 can combine the unique experience of attending a Danish efterskole/boarding school, with its proven educational and personal development qualities, with an international education. The school is a part of the self-governing institution VedersøIdrætsefterskole (Sports College), which is one of Denmark’s leading sports and gymnastic schools.

 

7.Kontakt mellem Mennesker(Children)

Next volunteer period: 1st  September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

KontaktmellemMennesker/Contact between People is a volunteer social association whose vision is a strong, visible and diverse civil society. The organization strives, through various areas of effort (Volunteer center, Self-help, Anonymous volunteer counseling, Community of interest projects and Charity shop) to promote a strong, visible and diverse civil society where anyone can make a volunteer contribution, seek help and support, and take part in meaningful communities – regardless of age, ethnicity, handicap and social status.

 

8.Limfjordsskolen (disabled)

Next volunteer period:1st  September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

Limfjordsskolen is a residential school for young disabled people between 17 and 20 years of age. The school offers a specially designed education based on the students individual competences and challenges and this education is given to all young people who cannot complete a normal youth education even with extra assistance and adapted curriculum.

 

9.Husmandsstedet (Children)

Next volunteer period:1st  September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

Husmandsstedet is an acitivity and recreation center, located in a former farmhouse in the heart of Sdr. Naeraa, Aarslev. At Husmandsstedet everybody is welcome to come and participate in different kind of activities or initiate interest groups and organize various activities, such as music groups, theatre, creative work, courses and training etc. Furthermore, children and youngsters, with a minimum age of 10 years, are welcome to spend their leisure time in the center in order to follow their interests and hobbies.

 

10.PræstøPrivatskole(Private school/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period:1st  September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

PræstøPrivatskole is a private independent school receiving government subsidy, founded 3 years ago and located in Præstø 1 hour drive south from Copenhagen. The school is located 100m from a fjord a few kilometers from the Baltic See. Only 12 minutes by bus to the train station. Præstø is surrounded by a very beautiful landscape.

 

11.KornmodRealskole (Private school/ Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period: 1stOctober 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

KornmodRealskole is a private school offering primary and secondary education for children from the age of 6 to 17. Starting in Kindergarten/pre-school up until 9th grade and an optional 10th grade. They furthermore have a SFO (after school programme) that takes care of the younger children from they get off school until they get picked up by their parents.

 

12.Kattegatcentret (Animals/Environment)

Next volunteer period:1st  of September 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project:

The Kattegatcentre is a dynamic and exciting place where you can experience the ocean and its animal life. The visitors get a unique experience and obtain new knowledge about the ocean world and in our aquariums you can experience animals and fish from all over the World. Shoal fish from the Danish coasts, crabs and lobsters from the North Sea, sharks and rays from the tropical oceans, seals and even some freshwaterspecies.

 

13.Rejsby European Efterskole (Efterskole/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period: 7th of August 2019 – 30th June 2020

Description of the project

The school is located in the little village of Rejsby in Southern Denmark on the west coast of Jutland, just 5 km from Wadden Sea National Park and 45km from the German border.

Currently, the school has room for 139 students with a fairly equal balance between girls and boys. The students come from a variety of backgrounds both financially, socially and academically and all are welcome to apply to the school for the 9th or 10th grade. The students live and study at the school for one year only.

 

14.Midtjysk Efterskole (Efterskole/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period: 5/6thof August 2019 to 30th June 2020

Description of the project

The school is located in the little town of Ejstrupholm and the school is easily accessed by bus with links to the train both to Aarhus, the 2nd biggest city in Denmark, and Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

The school currently has room for 134 students at our school with fairly equal balance between girls and boys and the students live and study at the school for one year only.

 

15.Vardeegnens Gymnasieforberedende Efterskole (Efterskole/Youth/Education)

Next volunteer period: 1st September 2019 – 1st July 2020

Description of the project:

The school is located in the west coast of Jutland and focuses on preparing its students for the Danish general upper secondary school called gymnasium (stx).

The efterskole is a unique Danish independent residential school for students between 14 and 18 years.

This type of school deals with both the educational and personal development of the students.

It embraces a common educational focus on enlightenment for life, general education and democratic citizenship.
