Looking for EVS volunteer, who will be working at a Library in Usti Nad Labem, where we had Shushanik Zargaryan having her experience from 2014-2015 and Tatevik Tamazyan in an on going project since September 2017.

Duration: (September 2018 – June 2019)

How does work in the library look like? What does the library offer and what does happen there? Come to discover secrets and hidden places of librarian practice, meet new people, get to know new culture and share yours.

We are looking for one volunteer at least 18 years old who is not affraid of communication (will be in contact with people every day) and who likes creating things and events, (taking part in activities of the library for public).

We offer interesting and varied work. Meeting new culture and possibility to share yours. Lectures of Czech language. Support at work and also during free time. Possibility to realize your own activities.

Our project will take place in the Czech Republic, in city Usti nad Labem (Northern part of the republic near borders with Germany) and will last 10 months (from beginning of September to the end of June or beginning of July).

Volunteer will take part in librarian activities (lending and returning books, communication with readers, help them with searching in the catalogue or find the book, working with databases, help with librarian activities for public) and English Club (non-formal meeting of people of different age who like speaking English and meeting new people). Then he/she can choose from three lines.
Line 1: Series of presentation about home country for public.
Line 2: Cooperation with Children‘s Library (activities for children and families, workshops etc.)
Line 3: Social media (articles for librarian blog, working with facebook, blog about his/her EVS)

Line 3 is possible to combine with line 1 or line 2.

Volunteer will live either in dormitories (single room with cooker, frindge, WC, bathroom and internet connection) or in small flat library has (single room with small kitchen, bathroom and WC and internet connection). We provide him/her with card for city transport, Czech sim card and in-karta card (discount for train). We offer 6 EUR/day for food and pocket money according the actual tariffs of Erasmus+ programme.
